The third annual 6 Hours of Arrowhead in Fayetteville, W.Va., saw sunshine and fast trails as opposed to last year's monsoon. This race, which is a timed lap loop along the Arrowhead Trail System in the New River Gorge, is one of the only mountain bike races held in a National Park.
On a busy weekend in terms of racing, about 30 racers came out in the heat with last year's Men's Solo winner Bradley Schmalzer, racing for Pro Mountain Outfitters, taking home first place yet again with Marathon Bicycle Company's Acie Hylton claiming second. Big thanks to Josh Feazell for organizing this and getting prizes together as well as orchestrating the cookout following. Thank you to Don Parks for traveling down to help time the event and for supplying the podium. Another big thanks to the couple of volunteers from the New River Bicycle Union for helping and the other folks that came out to ensure the course was dialed and for the clean up.
